X Marks the Spot - Poster Series
This project is an experimental typographic poster series that investigates three different inventors and promotes a hypothetical lecture about each individual.
The Concept:
Each poster in the series evokes the literal perspective of the inventor in relation to their contributions to science and the world.
The Challenge:
Create a series of typographic posters revolving around the topic of three inventors that is based on research, strong visual concept, and experimental typography.
The Process - Sketches
Developed the visual concept of “world view”, integrating characteristics of each inventor’s life into the visual components of the design.
The Process - Digital Iterations
Illustrating the Heavens - Claudius Ptolemy
Followed the idea of looking out into the stars, fine-tuning the composition. The largest poster shows the final direction.
Envisioning Earth - Gladys West
For Gladys West, the concept developed into suggesting at a GPS map with design elements. The larger iteration shows the final direction and early color experimentation.
The direction for Kürşat Ceylan created three-dimensional space with typography. The larger iteration shows the final direction.
